The Minister of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development of Castile La Mancha, Francisco Martínez Arroyo, has visited the company’s Aquadeus natural mineral water facilities, to see the implementation of its sustainability plan and to show support to companies which generate quality jobs in rural settings.

This plan includes measures such as the use of recycled PET, the development of a communication campaign aimed at customers to raise awareness of the importance of recycling, a reforestation programme in the area of its aquifer in the protected natural area of El Arquillo, in Robledo, on the outskirts of the Sierra de Alcaraz mountain range (Albacete), and the installation of a photovoltaic solar system for plant self-sufficiency. By implementing these initiatives, the company commits to sustainable and inclusive development, and achieves social and environmental benefits while carrying out its activity.

In terms of the employment created, Aquadeus has a staff of 69 people and its business activity generates 350 jobs indirectly. 87 percent of its human team live less than 30 kilometres from the bottling plant, located in a rural setting.

Aquadeus, integrated into the Fuertes Group business holding, is a pioneer in its sector and is immersed in a process of continual innovation. The objective set by the company is to continue growing above the sector average by increasing productive efficiency, to which end it has recently invested 4 million euros.

Aquadeus water is classified as rich in bicarbonates and calcium, and low in sodium, suitable for preparing baby foods and for low sodium diets.
